Shafaqna English– On Friday(11 Sep 2026), the widespread selling that had gripped global bond and equity markets temporarily eased, offering investors a brief respite. This pause came as oil prices pulled back from a four-month high, reducing some of the immediate pressure on markets.
However, the recent sharp rise in energy costs continued to stoke concerns about inflation and reinforced expectations that central banks might be compelled to tighten monetary policy further, meaning the underlying market anxiety had not truly dissipated.
After jumping 6% the day before, Brent crude climbed to a four-month peak of $109.97 a barrel on Friday before running into selling pressure.
The price then fell almost 2% to $105.90, but it remained on course for a weekly gain of about 10%. This pattern suggests that while traders took some profits on Friday, the underlying bullish sentiment in the oil market—driven by supply disruption fears—remained strong.
