Shafaqna English– During the week through September 9, U.S. equity funds came under heavy selling pressure as the Iran war drove oil prices sharply higher, fueling inflation fears and worries about rising borrowing costs across the economy.
Data from LSEG Lipper revealed that U.S. equity funds suffered net outflows of $32.27 billion during the week, the largest since investors withdrew $52.45 billion in the week ending December 17, 2025, underscoring the scale of the retreat from stocks amid rising inflation and borrowing-cost worries.
