Shafaqna English– On Friday(11 Sep 2026), U.S. health officials declared an end to the nation’s largest recorded multistate outbreak of cyclosporiasis, which had sickened thousands of people through contaminated iceberg lettuce, though the FDA admitted it was still trying to determine how the parasite got into the food supply.
Federal investigators linked the outbreak to lettuce from central Mexico sourced by Taylor Farms, leading to one of the biggest food recalls in recent years and prompting renewed scrutiny of food-safety controls for imported produce.
