Shafaqna English- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in New Delhi.
Pezeshkian and Ibrahim met on Saturday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.
Speaking during a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in India on Saturday, Pezeshkian said that Iran is committed to strengthening ties with neighboring and Muslim countries. He said Iran has no problems with its Muslim neighbors, arguing that the United States seeks to create divisions among friendly nations.
Pezeshkian said regional instability has its roots in US and European policies and Israeli crimes, saying independent countries should be allowed to determine their own future.
Pezeshkian stressed the need for solidarity among Muslim countries, saying the region does not need a foreign police force. He argued that territorial integrity and regional security can only be achieved by countries in the region.
He also referred to the recent conflict, saying Iran was attacked without justification, and its Leader, commanders, scientists, and children were killed. He said the Islamic Republic had no option but to defend itself, including by targeting military bases in neighboring countries used in attacks against Iran.
The Iranian president arrived in New Delhi on Friday for the heads-of-state and government summit of BRICS, which is held on September 12 and 13.
