Shafaqna English- Iraq announced on Wednesday the conclusion of the US-led international coalition’s mission, signaling a shift toward bilateral security relations with member states of the coalition, according to the prime minister’s security adviser.
This announcement coincides with the completion of the US military’s withdrawal from Iraq, which is expected to meet a deadline of September 30. This marks the end of a 12-year deployment initiated to aid in the fight against ISIS (Daesh).
The departure concludes the multinational mission that began in 2014, but it does not represent the first instance of American withdrawal from the country. US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed to Anadolu that the broader timeline remains intact, but declined to provide details about the final movements.
