OCHA: Over 8 million Afghans received humanitarian assistance

Shafaqna English- From January to July 2026, over 8 million people in Afghanistan received humanitarian assistance, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

OCHA said 47 percent of recipients were children, 33 percent were women, and 20 percent were men.

During the same period, 1.1 million people received at least three forms of humanitarian assistance.

OCHA said food assistance accounted for 59 percent of all aid recipients, or 4.9 million people, reflecting the widespread scale of acute food insecurity and the need for repeated, multi-sector support.
