IEA: Oil market cooling after reserve release

Shafaqna English– Fatih Birol, who leads the International Energy Agency, announced on Friday that oil prices have begun to decline. The decline followed a decision to release 100 million barrels of oil and fuel from emergency reserves.

The goal is to stabilize markets and protect consumers from high costs. Birol’s remarks indicate the release is already making a difference. They also suggest that global energy markets are responding positively after weeks of uncertainty and volatility.

G7 nations agreed on Friday to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from emergency reserves. Donald Trump praised the move. He wants to bring down fuel prices that have risen sharply due to the Iran war. The release aims to ease supply worries.

It also seeks to stop prices from rising further. Trump’s reaction shows the US is eager to stabilize energy costs. The agreement also shows that major economies are working together to handle energy shocks.
