Arete Academy Geneva report documents a decade of Anti-Muslim discrimination in India

Shafaqna English- Unequal Citizens report documents a decade of discriminatory legislation, demolitions, and policing against India’s roughly 200 million Muslims, citing a 97 percent rise in hate speech incidents and 740,000 people displaced by property demolitions in 2022–23 alone.

A new report by Arete Academy Geneva, “Unequal Citizens,” draws on UN, Human Rights Watch, and USCIRF findings; India’s government has rejected similar assessments as politically motivated.
A Geneva-based human rights institute, Arete Academy, has published a report alleging a decade of systemic discrimination and state-enabled violence against India’s Muslim minority, a community it estimates at roughly 200 million people.
