Shafaqna English– Belgium enters Monday’s Nations League match against France without captain Youri Tielemans and midfield talisman Kevin De Bruyne. This double absence deals a heavy blow to their hopes at the Stade de France. Without Tielemans’ leadership and De Bruyne’s playmaking, Belgium’s structure and attacking threat are both diminished.
Both players are suspended after receiving yellow cards in consecutive matches. As a result, they must serve a one-match ban. That means they will miss the final game of Belgium’s four Nations League fixtures, which are being played across a 10-day period in the current international window. The tight schedule makes their absence even more costly.
