SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about paying Zakat-ul-Fitr.

Question: Is the host relieved from paying Zakat-ul-Fitr for the guest when the guest pays for his/her own?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: If the guest is a dependent (of the host; meaning, his/her daily expense is paid by the host), and if by the permission of the host and on his behalf (the guest) pays for his/her own Zakat-ul-Fitr; the host is relieved from (paying) it.
