SHAFAQNA – When Imam Sadeq (AS) passed away, Abu basir came to express his condolences to Imam’s wife, Umm Hamidah (RA). Umm Hamidah cried and Abu Basir who was blind also cried. Then Umm Hamidah told Abu Basir: You were not present at the last moments of Imam’s life, he was very weak and opened his eyes and asked for all the close relatives to gather in a room. When everybody came, Imam Sadeq (AS) opened his eyes again and said: We (the Ahlul Bait (AS)) will never intercede on behalf of those people who neglect Salaat; Imam (AS) said this sentence and then passed away. Imam Sadeq (AS) did not mention those who do not perform Salaat; because their cases are very clear. He said: Those who neglect Salaat; so why they neglect Salaat? These people have plenty of time; they can perform Salaat on time and with calm and concentration. But they do not care; they wait until near evening to perform their Dhuhr and Asr Salaats. Near evening they go and quickly do Whudhu, and then perform Salaat in a hurry; Salaat with haste, without concentration, or calmness; they behave in a way as if this is another task and we must perform our Salaat; this is neglecting Salaat [1].
