Imam Hussain shrine held Quran competition for women

SHAFAQNA – “The aim of organizing this competition is to build a Quranic generation committed to the divine texts, especially the women, considering them the incubator for future generations and representing half of society,” added Abbas.

The National Center for Quranic Sciences of the Shia Endowment has held the second preliminary competition in Quran recitation and memorization for women, in cooperation with Dar al-Quran Center of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in the holy shrine at Karbala.

Head of the Quran Teaching Unit Entisar Abbas said, “This preliminary competition is an extension to selecting a winner to participate in the national competition, who will be representing Iraq in the international Quran competition.”

Fifteen females, across several centers and foundations, took part in the Quranic competition.

“The aim of organizing this competition is to build a Quranic generation committed to the divine texts, especially the women, considering them the incubator for future generations and representing half of society,” added Abbas.
