SHAFAQNA- Former Iranian Ambassador to Syria, Raouf Sheybani said that Iran will not participate in Idlip operation.
Speaking with Shafaqna, Sheybani, believes that with the entry of Iran into the Syria, the subsequent action that the Russians played in the Syrian crisis, and with the co-ordination and support of Iran, now the United States and Israel found that every thing has changed. “In current situation they have no chance to gain benefits from changing regime and crisis in Syria,” he stressed.
Sheybani also said that Iran as an effective power will never exit from the region. Many countries also tried to get Iran out of region, but this did not happen.
Referring to the fact that supporting Syria didn’t base on Ideological matters for Iran, Sheybani stressed that as the instability increases in region, Iran, as a member of the middle east, is the first who is affected by this instability.
“If a geopolitical change took place in Syria, then Iran security will be threatened. Syria has special economic situation and it is useful for future programmes,” he added.
Iranian diplomat said the crisis will never end in Syria till the Idlib issue be solved. “The only countries whose forces have legitimate presence in Syria are Iran and Russia. Rest of them are unlawful even Turkish troops. As long as the Syrian government needs us, Islamic Republic of Iran will be there,” he continued.
“Middle East Region will loose its firmness if Iran be omitted,” Sheybani pointing out, stressed that “Idlib has a multi-layered issue which I feel will eventually lead to war. There is political disposition for Syria-Idlib crisis. Anyway Iran will never enter to Idlib operation which lead to a difficult humanitarian situation.”
