SHAFAQNA– Iraqi President Barham Saleh and his accompanying delegation ended a one-day official visit to Kuwait on Monday.
President Barham Salih met with His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah the Emir of The State of Kuwait and discussed with him several dossiers concerning the relations between the two countries, the most important of which is the establishment of railways linking the two countries as well as the lingering issues.
The talks also included the dossier of the reconstruction of Iraq. The Emir of the State of Kuwait affirmed that his country will spare no effort to help Iraq and stand by its side in the reconstruction stage after the elimination of the terrorist organization of “ISIS”.
President Barham Salih had also met with Mr. Ghanim Al-Marzouq the Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker and Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah the Prime Minister of Kuwait.
His Excellency’s Persian Gulf tour aims at opening new horizons of fruitful relations and cooperation between Iraq and the countries of the region.
President Salih confirmed that the inauguration of his Persian Gulf tour from Kuwait is a message in itself to prove the importance of the relations between the two brotherly countries, IRAQI PRESIDENCY reported.
