SHAFAQNA – According to Guardian, A part of Gutenberg Bible could be sold for over $500000 in an auction at Sotheby’s in New York on June 19. The Latin pages are the first publication from Johann Gutenberg’s moveable type printing press in 15th century Germany.
The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York currently owns the 8 pages of the Bible. The fragment contains eight consecutive pages from the Bible, including the entire Book of Esther, the end of Judith, the prologue of St Jerome to Esther and the beginning of the first prologue of Jerome to Job.
