SHAFAQNA- In a press conference held in Rabat, Morraco, Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, Director-General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), described the presentation of a historical Moroccan Quran in Israel as a “robbery”.
Al-Tuwajiri also called on the Islamic countries to devote a week to the Quds city on the occasion of the year 2019 as the “Year of the Legacy of the Islamic World.”
It should be noted that last month the official page of the Israeli National Library published images of an old version of the Quran from Morocco, dating back to 10 centuries ago.
In this regard, a Moroccan legal activist urged the government to withdraw the old manuscript from Israel.
“The Moroccan government must bring back these mus’hafs and several other historic codex,” said Ahmed Owichman, head of the anti-normalization of Moroccan relations with Israel.
