Ayatollah Sistani: Iraq never becomes a center to harm other countries

SHAFAQNA- Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani in a meeting with the Special Representative of the United Nations in Iraq emphasized on his disagreement about changing Iraq to the center for harming other countries.

Today, Ayatollah Sistani welcomed Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, who is serving as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq.

The Supreme Religious Authority thanked the United Nations for helping Iraqis to cope with the problems that their country has suffered, and wished them success in their duties.

Ayatollah Sistani emphasized that “if political groups do not change their attitude toward the country’s problems, there will be no real opportunity to end the current crisis”, adding that the priority of government is to rebuild the war torn places and restore the displaced people as it will contribute to reducing the risk of renewal of the radical thought in these areas.

“And international organizations and countries in the world should also help accelerate the realization of this important issue”, he said.
