Question: What is the ruling on hunting with shotgun?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: Generally, permission for hunting is based on related rules and regulations, and it is not allowed if it is illegal, otherwise there is no problem on its own, and if the conditions for hunting exist, it is Halal; including the condition that the bullet is sharp in a way that penetrates inside animal’s body and tear it. And there is a problem with being clean and Halal, if the bullet is not sharp and goes into animal’s body with force and kills it, or because of its heat burns animal’s body, and due to the burning animal dies.
