SHAFAQNA- Alkafeel: “According to the initiative of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine Sayed. Ahmad al-Safi, ordering to landscaping the city of Karbala since more than ten years, we have increased the variety of trees planted in Karbala. Thankfully, most of the city’s streets were planted, and the acacia tree has a large share of afforestation, due to the beauty of this tree and its rapid growth”, The head of the service affairs department of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine and General Supervisor of the implementation of this project, Haj Khalil Hanoun, explained to Al-Kafeel Network.

Agriculture engineer Ahmed Abdel Latif, one of the engineers of the Al-Kafeel Nursery Group and workers of this project, said: “The al-Kafeel nursery group has started to grow acacia trees of different colors. It is cultivated in spring and autumn, starting from the seed to cultivating it and feeding it by a fertilizer called Potemus, so it continues to grow for nearly forty days until the completion of germination and the formation of the root group, then it is planted in the places allocated to each tree.”

He added: “There are many types of acacia trees planted in the province of Karbala, such as the tropical flowering tree, which seeds were brought from different global origins, and were suitable for the atmosphere and the soil of Iraq. Therefore it was planted in the al-Kafeel Nursery Group to be the marketer of this type of flowering trees in Iraq.”

It should be noted that the cultivation of this type of trees is a new productivity quantum leap added to the continuous agricultural activity of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine.
