SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about martial arts.
Question: What is your opinion about Karate, Boxing, and other martial arts, and is it Wajib to pay Diyah if the body of the opponent is injured or bruised?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: There is no problem to take part in these sorts of sports if there is no significant damage, unless there is a significant damage and the opponent is not satisfied. In any case if there is damage or bruises to the body of the opponent, Diyah is Wajib to be paid, unless the opponent agrees not pursue any claim.
