To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful -Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, the General Secretariat of Imam Ali Holy Shrine held its annual festival in the holy courtyard.
Sayyid Hani al-Musawi kicked off the event with his recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by the Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Redhwan Sahib, in which he welcomed the attendees and congratulated the entire Islamic world on this delightful occasion.
Al-Musawi mentioned the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah that says, “O Ali, nobody knows Allah except you and I. Nobody knows me except Allah and you. Nobody knows you except Allah and I.”
“No words can express a fraction of the characteristics of this great Imam, he was the epitome of eloquence, bravery, wisdom, justice, and equality,” he continued.
The festival also included recitations of poetry on this great individual and concluded with an honor ceremony for the poets and participants.
