Iran’s Zarif : Wrong Choices by Netanyahu Firsters resulted in ongoing conflicts in the region

SHAFAQNA- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message revealed wrong decisions made by US officials in support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are the main reasons behind conflicts in the region.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said behind ongoing conflicts in the region.

“When it comes to conflict in our region, IT’S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY: @realDonaldTrump confessed  US has spent $7 trillion here, only to worsen the situation. It’s #NetanyahuFirsters always making the wrong choice in his service—at expense of all else—and expecting different results,” Zarif tweeted on Saturday.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Washington was designating the IRGC a foreign “terrorist organization”, marking the first time the US has formally labeled another country’s military a terrorist group.

The announcement was made a day before Israelis headed to the polls to elect the 120 members of the 21st Knesset (parliament). On the eve of the vote, Netanyahu took credit for Trump’s decision to blacklist IRGC, Almanar told.

Targeting IRGC won’t revive ISIS

In reaction to the US’ move to brand the IRGC elite force as a terrorist organization, Zarif wrote in a tweet: “Losers of our region’s War on Terror cannot rescind history. Targeting IRGC won’t revive ISIS and Nusra—their clients and very creations”.

“Game over, ladies and gentlemen: time to face the fact that you’ve exhausted every wrong choice and scapegoating won’t be your panacea,” he added.

Zarif’s tweet came attached with an image referencing a 2014 article published in the British online newspaper, The Independent, which discussed Saudi Arabia’s role and its “substantial and sustained funding from private donors” for the ISIS takeover of much of northern Iraq.

the Iranian top diplomat had maintained that “ISIS would’ve held two Arab capitals and fielded a terrorist Army on Europe’s doorstep had the IRGC not fought alongside [the] brave peoples of Iraq and Syria”, Iran Press told.
