Saudi forces attack Shia town in Eastern Province on early days of Ramadan

SHAFAQNA- Reports out of Saudi Arabia’s town of Al-Awamiya in the Eastern province indicate Saudi security forces have been deployed in the different parts of the Shia city.

The operation took place on Tuesday May 7 in the evening at the time where locals in the Shukrulah district of the city were preparing to break their fast. They surrounded the district, causing panic among Awamiya residents. Local sources say Saudi troops used racist, sectarian language while facing people.

The deployment of the Saudi troops comes a day after authorities threatened the families of some of the activists who were executed on April 23 by the regime. The Al Saud regime has already used the same fearmongering tactics in the city of Qatif, also Eastern Province.

According to local sources, regime authorities have summoned a number of loyal clerics and political figures, asking them to control people and report any possible anti-regime protests or activities.
