What is the ruling on eating food in public in Ramadhan in Islamic and non-Islamic countries? The Grand Ayatollah Makarem’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi answered a question about eating food in public in Ramadhan.

Question: Is it different to eat food in public before Maqrib Adhan in the month of Ramadhan in non-Islamic or Islamic countries for those individuals who are excused from fasting?

The Grand Ayatollah Makarem: Eating food in public for individuals who are excused from fasting is definitely not allowed in Islamic countries; and there is no problem in non-Islamic countries if it does not cause weakness of Islam.
