SHAFAQNA– On the occasion of the fasting month of Ramadan, Al-Khoei Foundation, the international charity organization, hosted representatives of various religions.
According to Shafaqna, Al-Khoei’s Iftar dinner in London, the United Kingdom, saw members of Shia, Sunni, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Hindu communities who got together to have conversation and practice understanding of other religions in a friendly atmosphere.
Secretary General of Al-Khoei Foundation, Seyed Abdul Sahib Al-Khoei, Iranian ambassador Hamid Baeidinejad, Iraq’s ambassador to the UK, Secretary for Inter-Religious Affairs to the Archbishop of Canterbury Revd Dr Richard Sudworth were among the many guests who attended the events.
Ayatollah Sayyid Fadhel Milani – who serves as the imam of Al-Khoei Islamic Center– was the speaker of the Iftar party. He thanked all attendees for their presence and welcomed their effort for understanding the Islamic traditions.
Representatives of various religions for their part took the podium for minutes, they said events such as Al-Khoei’s Iftar are opportunities that followers of different faiths could use to increase brotherly bonds among themselves, deter extremism and create a society full of friendship and kindness for all humankind.
