Can acid reflux invalidate fasting? The Grand Ayatollah Sistani’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Sistani answered a question about acid reflux.

Question: If a fasting person suffers from acid reflux and the acid comes up and appears in the mouth; is this fasting Batel (null and void)?

The Grand Ayatollah Sistani: If the person burps and something comes to the throat or mouth, must throw it out, and if it goes down unintentionally, the fasting is correct.
