SHAFAQNA– The Bahraini regime has decided to put on trial an Egyptian businessman on charge of insulting the country’s Shia community.
According to Shafaqna, the first session of the trial of Yasser al-Attar who is an advisor to Bahrain’s Chamber of Commerce was held on Tuesday, June 11. Al-Attar began shouting, insulting the Shia and using abusive language against them during a session of the Chamber of Commerce, in attendance of a number of Shia businessmen.
According to Bahrain’s Prosecutor General, Mr. Al-Attar is accused of insult and inciting hatred and violence against one of the country’s ethnicities. Bahraini Interior Ministry announced the arrest of Yasser al-Attar when he was trying to leave the Persian Gulf tiny country.
