Afghan peace official due in Tehran for talks on regional consensus

SHAFAQNA- IRNA: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s special envoy in peace talks Mohammad Omar Daudzai is scheduled to visit Tehran in coming days for talks on regional consensus about peace process in the country, according to the spokesman of Afghanistan’s High Peace Council (HPC) Ihsan Taheri.

Daudzai, also the HPC’s secretary, is to visit Tehran within the framework of his visits to different regional countries.

Taheri said that the visit will be paid within the next few days. However he noted that no exact time has been set for the visit yet.

Iran is one of the countries that has held talks with Taliban representatives on the peace process in Afghanistan with acknowledgement of the country’s government. Iran supports Intra-Afghan peace talks under the supervision of Afghan government.
