How did Ahlul Bait (AS) deal with luxuries of life?

SHAFAQNA – It is narrated from Imam Sajjad (AS) who said: Asma Bint-e-Amees narrated: One day Imam Ali (AS) attained a booty from one of the wars and bought a necklace for his wife Lady Fatimah Zahra (SA) and gave it to her as a gift, and his wife wore it. The next day, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) went to Imam Ali’s house and saw the necklace round his daughter’s neck and said: My daughter, (make sure) people and the world do not deceive you, you are the daughter of the Prophet of Allah (SWT); do not become joyful about luxuries and jewelries of life. When Lady Fatimah Zahra (SA) heard this sentence, took off the necklace and sold it and freed a slave with the money, and the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) became happy [1].
