SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered questions about ladies clapping in joyous celebrations.
Question: Is it allowed for ladies to clap in joyous celebrations which are organised exclusively for women, such as birthdays and weddings? What is the ruling if the sound can be heard outside in a way that strangers (non-Mahram men) can hear?
The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: There is nothing wrong with clapping in normal ways if it does not result in any mischief/misconduct; even if strangers hear it.
