Government Commissions Army to Free Hostages

SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association)-Prime Minister Tammam Salam chaired a new meeting for the ministerial panel tasked with following up the case of abducted Lebanese soldiers and policemen, mulling the available options to free the hostages, including the negotiations and the military operations.

In this regard, well-informed sources told Al-Manar that PM Salam and the members of the ministerial panel commissioned the army commander to adopt all the measures to free the soldiers and policemen abducted by the terrorist groups on Arsal barrens.
The sources added that the Army was also authorized to control the security situation in the northeastern town of Arsal.
It is worth noting that the Lebanese army has intensified its deployment in Arsal to repel any terrorist infiltration into the area.
