American athlete shares his conversion story

SHAFAQNA – Born in April 1992, Dominique Easley has signed a four-year-deal with the New England (US) Patriots in 2014. The contract is believed to be worth $7.3 million. The 6-foot-2, 288-pound versatile defensive lineman was drafted No. 29 overall out of Florida, where he stared 26 games in four seasons.

There are about 6 to 8 million Muslims in the US. In the current atmosphere of mistrust and bias against the American Muslim community, Easley’s announcement this March that he had accepted Islam send ripples across the sports world. But regardless of the controversy his conversion generated, the young athlete is adamant, his story will inspire many others like him to follow their heart and heal through Islam.

“Many things happened in my life, and I’ve been lost for 22 yrs. Today I’ve found my guidance to paradise,” said Easley to Shafaqna in exclusive comments.

A talented player for the NFL, Easley took to Twitter to share his news, keen on sharing with his fans.
