Arba’een Pilgrims’ Quran Reading Skills Improve

SHAFAQNA- Various booths have been set up on the roads to Karbala to help the pilgrims marching to the holy city improve their Quran reading skills.

According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, the booths have been set up in different parts of Iraq by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan.

The correct reading of Surah Fatiha and short Surahs (chapters) of the Holy Quran are taught in these booths.

Sheikh Hassan Al-Mansouri, head of the center said that in one of the booths on the way from Nasiriyah city to Karbala, a number of Quran teachers are implementing the “One Thousand Quran Memorizers” Plan for the pilgrims.

He added that besides the temporary booths, there are more permanent stations based in the holy city of Karbala and inside the holy shrine welcoming the pilgrims who are willing to correct their mistakes in reading the verses of the Holy Quran.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims from all over the world march to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate Arba’een (the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), his household and his companions on Ashura).
