SHAFAQNA- Iran’s former foreign ministry spokesman, Hamidreza Asefi said Iran has already negotiated with Taliban. Initially, we did that in the previous years with the presence of the United Nations. At the moment, we would like to do this, and this is approved by the Afghan government and Taliban as well.

Referring to Shemkhani’s visit to Afghanistan, Asefi stated that “Iran has already negotiated with Taliban. This is also the help of the central government of Kabul. Taliban was dominated on about two-thirds of the country.”

“We should help to bring peace in the region, as we did this before and Iran made a kind of state-building in Afghanistan, but Americans destroy everything with their politics. Now, we would like to do this, and this is also approved by the Afghan government and Taliban as well. Finally, Shemkhani went to Afghanistan and had useful talk,” he added.
