Australia beat Pakistan in first one-day

Australia beat Pakistan by 93 runs in the first day-night international in Sharjah on Tuesday, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Steven Smith hit a solid 101 to help Australia, who batted after winning the toss, to 255-8 in their 50 overs before Mitchell Johnson (3-24), Glenn Maxwell (2-29) and Nathan Lyon (2-33) bundled Pakistan out for 162 in 36.3 overs at Sharjah stadium.

Umar Akmal (46) and Sarfraz Ahmed (34) were the only Pakistani batsmen who offered some resistance.

The remaining two matches will be played in Dubai on Friday and in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. The teams will also play two Tests after the limited over series.
