Ayat. Sobhani: Avoiding sins, the best deed to do in Ramadan

SHAFAQNA-

On a TV program that was aired Friday night on channel 2 of Iran’s state-run television, Grand Ayatollah Sobhani made some remarks on how to thank God.

His Eminence said, “One has to pay attention to the fact that the human being was a weak creature and the divine power is what turned this weak being powerful. In fact, the Qur’an wants to remind human beings of their past so they become thankful for the blessings of God.”

He stressed on expressing gratitude to God for His blessings and stated, “Gratitude has a verbal aspect that is important, but not as important as the practical aspect; the most important thing is for us to use the blessings of God, such as eyes ear,… in the right place.”

The Shia source of emulation recited a Hadith from Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) where the prophet was asked what is the best deed in the holy month of Ramadan and he answered, ‘Avoiding sins.’

Ayatollah Sobhani concluded, “In order to reach the level of avoiding sins, one needs to practice and close his eyes and ears to the sins.”
