Ayatollah Sistani: “Iraqi Army should be very vigilant of ISIL”

SHAFAQNA- Iraq’s most senior Shiite cleric and religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Al-Sistani, has advise the Iraqi army to be very vigilant in relation to ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

In a meeting on Sunday with a number of senior military commanders of the Iraqi armed forces, Grand Ayatollah Sistani emphasized that Iraq’s armed forces should be on full alert and “ready to go to war” with members of the Takfiri terrorist group, ISIL.

A number of Iraqi military commanders, along with people from all walks of life, had visited Grand Ayatollah Sistani on the occasion of the Eid Al-Adha (or the feast of sacrifice). The senior military officers also called for uprooting of terrorism from Iraqi soil.

Meanwhile, Iraq’s security forces have announced that special security precautions have been adopted in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, in the days leading up to the Eid Al-Adha.

In other news, three explosive-laden vehicles have been discovered and defused by Iraqi security forces in the Al-Qadesiyeh district of Tikrit, in central-northern Iraq.
