SHAFAQNA – Top Iranian cleric, Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, criticized anti-Shia satellite and television channels demanding Muslim scholars to highlight commonalities as a strategy against enemy plots.

Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, senior Shia jurisprudent, referred Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) concern for the future of the Islamic nation and called the UK as a master of dispersing Shia Sunni communities.

He called the new era as a time of division adding,” The disagreement between Shia and Sunni is due to the prejudice of these groups towards their own ideas and if we intend to save our nation we have to highlight our commonalities.”

Prominent Shia professor of Qom Seminary demanded Muslim scholars to underline commonalities between Shia and Sunni Muslims and noted,” Society has to stress commonalities and leave the study of disagreements to scholars.”

He also warned against constant effort of the UK to disperse Shia and Sunni Muslims calling it a master in dividing Muslims.

Grand Ayatollah Sobhani referred to various satellite and television channels launched against Shia and noted,” These channels are active in a way that crimes by the Zionist regime are totally forgotten and their advancement in the Occupied Lands of Palestine is ignored.”
