Bahrainis defy suppression calling to free Sheikh Ali Salman and political prisoners

SHAFAQNA – Protests in many areas around Bahrain took to the streets calling for the immediate release of the opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman, also Secretary General of Al Wefaq National Islamic Society. Salman has been in jail for over 100 days for peacefully expressing his opinions and demanding  fundamental humanitarian rights.

The defiant protesters raised demands for equality, justice and democracy despite the ban and brutal suppression on protests .

The daily peaceful prodemocracy protests marched the streets of Salman’s hometown as well as many other areas since his arrest, stressing on the immediate and unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience.
