SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) – The following narrations (Hadiths) have been chosen from the book of “Thawabul Aamaal wa Eqabul Aamaal” by grand Shia scholar “Sheikh Sadooq”.
- The reward for the person who mentions the name of God at the time of eating – It is narrated from Imam Sadiq (AS) who narrated from Imam Ali (AS) who said: A person who mentions the name of God with his/her tongue at the time of eating will never be questioned about that particular food gift given by the Almighty.
- The reward for a person who feeds a hungry one – Safwan ibn Yahya narrated from Imam Sadiq (AS): A person who feeds a hungry one, Allah (SWT) will designate a river in the paradise for him/her. Also Sama’eh narrated from Imam Sadiq (AS): A person, who fills the stomach of a hungry one, will be rewarded with paradise.
- The reward for thanksgiving – Ibn Abi Ameer from one of the companions of Imam Sadiq (AS) narrated that Imam Sadiq (AS) said: The reward for a person who eats and gives thanks to Allah (SWT) is like a person who fasts for the satisfaction of God and good health will be the reward for the one who gives thanks and this reward is equal to the reward of a person who is patient when suffering from difficulties.
