Bomb attacks killed 20 across Iraq

In the latest breakout of violence, a bomb blast ripped through a busy market in the capital, Baghdad, leaving at least 12 people dead and dozens more wounded.

SHAFAQNA (Shia International News Association) –Fresh bomb attacks have targeted civilians and security forces across Iraq, as deadly violence continues to plague the country.

The death toll from the bombing is expected to rise as some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

In a separate incident, a car bomb hit a group of security forces and Shia fighters in the city of Tikrit, located 140 km northwest of Baghdad.

At least five people were killed and nearly a dozen injured in the assault while four bomb attacks targeting the Speicher military base near Tirkrit left two soldiers dead.

The blasts come as the overall security situation in Iraq has worsened over the past months after Takfiri IISL terrorists, many of whom foreign militants, took control of parts of Iraq’s northern and western regions.

They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheadings of people.

The Takfiri ISIL terrorists executed a news cameraman and 12 other people in several Iraqi towns and villages north of the capital on Friday.

The militants reportedly killed nine people in the town of Az-Zab, 90 kilometers west of the oil hub of Kirkuk, on suspicion that they had ties with anti-ISIL Sunni groups. The Takfiris also publicly executed Iraqi news cameraman, Raad al-Azzawi, along with his brother and two other civilians in the village of Samra, east of the city of Tikrit.
