SHAFAQNA- Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed the new year of 2016 with two large Quran recitation sessions.
The programs were held in the capital Sarajevo and the central city of Kakanj, according to the Arabi21 website.
Titled “A Night with the Quran”, the Sarajevo program was held at Muslihudin Eekrekeija historic mosque.
It was organized by the city’s municipal council and welcomed by citizens, especially the youth.
The one held in Kakanj was attended by a number of Quran reciters from Turkey.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe.
Muslims constitute over 40 percent of the country’s overall population.
