SHAFAQNA –

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about a nurse touching the opposite sex patient.

Question: A nurse, who is the opposite sex of the patient at the time of checking the pulse or other medical necessities which need some parts of the patient’s body to be touched, may wear a pair of gloves. Can the nurse do all these actions without wearing medical gloves?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: By touching on the clothes or by wearing gloves at the time of checking the patient, there is no need for the body of the opposite sex patient to be touched, and therefore it (touching the body of the opposite sex patient without gloves) is not allowed.
