Can a woman pull out of temporary marriage by giving away her dowry? The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi answered a question about pulling out of temporary marriage by a woman.

Question: If a woman has married a man for a few months on a temporary marriage, and then does not want to continue the relationship; can she give away her dowry or give it back and free herself from being tied in marriage with her husband; or ending the temporary relationship depends on the expiry of agreed time or agreement by the man and has nothing to do with returning or giving away dowry?

The Grand Ayatollah Shahroodi: Temporary marriage ends only when the term has expired, or by agreement of the man, unless at the time of Nikah, the right of the man has been taken away.
