Can lineage save a person from Divine punishment?

SHAFAQNA – Imam Reza (AS) was attending a meeting and in a corner he noticed Zaid (known as Zaidul Naar, Imam’s brother) was talking about the virtues of the descendants of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and how they are special. Imam Reza (AS) told him: O’ Zaid, you have believed the words of the grocers of the Kufa and now delivering them to people.

The fact that you heard the children of Hazrat Zahra (AS) will be saved from fire means only her immediate children; Imam Hassan (AS), Imam Hussain (AS) and their two sisters. If your words were true, you should have been better and higher than your father, Imam Mosa Kazim (AS) with God; because he goes to paradise by obeying and worshipping God and you by disobeying and not worshipping God.

My great Grandfather, Imam Sajjad (AS) said: Divine punishment for the sinner among Ahlul Bait (AS) will be doubled; once for the sin and once for harming the reputation of the Prophet (PBUH). The son of Noah (AS) was not saved because of lineage. The criterion for eternal prosperity or adversity is spiritual bond, good deeds and obedience of Allah (SWT). Whoever obeys God is from us Ahlul Bait (AS) even though that person has no lineage with us [1].
