Can the night when full moon is evident be cited for determining the first day of month? The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei’s answer

SHAFAQNA – The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei answered a question about determining the first day of month.

Question: Can the night when full moon is evident be cited for determining the first day of month, so to clarify the situation of Youmal Shak (the day of doubt) that for example it is the 30th of Ramadhan and the rules of fasting are still on; for example if a person has failed to fast this day without any reason need to compensate for it and the one who fasted thinking it was Ramadhan can be sure that he/she has done his/her duty?

The Grand Ayatollah Khamenei: The mentioned case is not religious proof to what was said; but if it is useful knowledge for something to the religiously bound person (Mokallaf), then it is Wajeb to act accordingly.
