CBC.ca/ Spring Garden Road reopens after bomb threat

SHAFAQNA (International Shia News Association) – Police officers in Halifax have reopened Spring Garden Road, between Carlton and Robie streets, after part of it was closed when someone on Twitter threatened to detonate a device.

Residents in the area had been asked to voluntarily leave their homes.

Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Bill Morris said a specific location was named in the threat, but he declined to make that location public.

A K-9 team searched several businesses in the area and did not discover any explosive devices.

Halifax police continue to investigate in the hopes of finding the person who made the threat. Anyone with information is asked to call the Halifax Regional Police department.
