Quran-Indisputable Book

Alif Lam Mim. This (revered divine) Book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil).

Commentary: The Quran without doubt is an unaltered and direct word of Allah which was revealed, through Angel Gabriel, to heart of the Prophet Mohammad1

  • There is no doubt the Quran is the direct words of Allah
  • There is no doubt in truthfulness and authenticity of materials presented in the Quran
  • There is no doubt the Quran is the book of guidance for righteous people

The disbelievers of Mecca claimed that the Quran is a fabrication of human mind2. The Quran rejected this accusation categorically3 and proved its inimitable and unique literary excellence is beyond the reach of literary of human mind. Those who question the divine nature of the Quran are challenged to compose even one chapter like in the style and manner of the Quran4

Allah spoke about many subjects in the Quran such as monotheism, resurrection, history of preceding nations and messengers before the rise of Islam, etc. And there is no room for doubt in truthfulness and authenticity of materials presented in the Quran.

There is no doubt the Quran is the book of guidance for mankind5. But only righteous, who are willing to listen and follow the Quran, will benefit from its guidance.

This is true about all preceding messengers. For instance, the prophet Noah came to guide his people to the straight path. Some amongst his nation chose to avoid him by plugging their ears with their finger and covering their face with their garment. Consequently, they did not benefit from his teaching. And finally their evil deeds destroyed them6.

Sin also acts as a barrier between us and the Quran’s guidance7. When one commits a sin, allegorically, a dark spot appears on his heart (intellect)8. If he repents and amends his affairs, consequently, the dark spot will be disappeared from his heart. But if he insists in committing sin, a dark spot after a dark spot gradually brings a complete darkness to his heart.  Darkness of heart prevents one from benefiting the Quran’s guidance.
