SHAFAQNA – Damascus rejected rumors that it is building nuclear arms facilities in secret.
According to the Syrian state News Agency (SANA), the claim was carried first by the German weekly Der Spiegel which said Syria has secret plans to produce nuclear arms.
In a report on Monday, the news agency termed as ’ridiculous’ the claims said such rumors are parts of a propaganda ploy by countries which are tending to push the international and regional powers into intervening in Syrian domestic affairs.
The German weekly on Sunday quoted a number of western experts as claiming that the Syrian government owns nuclear installations code-named ‘’Zam Zam’ close to the city of Qasir on Lebanese border.
