Friday July 21, 2017 marked the beginning of the 53th consecutive week of Diraz siege, as military and armored vehicles spread along the areas to ban citizens from entering. Meanwhile, citizens performed prayers solely despite the imposed siege on the area, and the ban on Friday prayers Imam to enter the Mosque.

Authorities continue to impose their restrictions on freedom of religion and movement in Diraz, and on Shiites religious rituals, especially the biggest Shiite Friday prayers.
